100 Black Men of America

100 Black Men was founded as an organization in New York City in 1963. The national organization, 100 Black Men of America, Inc., began with nine chapters in 1986 as a national alliance of leading African American men of business, public affairs and government with a mission to improve the quality of life for African Americans, particularly African American youth. Today, under the direction of Albert E. Dotson, Jr., the organization has 116 chapters in the United States, England and the Caribbean.

A Chance To Heal

A Chance to Heal is shaping conversations in schools, hospitals, legislative bodies and living rooms about preventing eating disorders and successfully raising kids in a body conscious world. 

Action for Healthy Kids

Action for Healthy Kids addresses childhood undernourishment, obesity and prevention by working with schools to help kids learn to eat right and be active every day. This focus is because of the unique position and influence that schools have on children and their families, in addition to their responsibility to provide nutrition and physical education and their many opportunities to promote healthy eating and active living. Action for Healthy Kids partners with families, community members, professionals and business to support schools in this effort.

Adventure to Fitness

Adventure to Fitness is an innovative program for kids to explore the world while they learn and get fit.  By combining engaging videos that get kids up and moving with supplemental resources, Adventure to Fitness offers a fun, low-cost solution for any school or home, requiring minimal training or equipment.  Developed with educational, medical, and parenting experts, Adventure to fitness has been one of the fastest-growing products in the U.S. school system and currently reaches up to 10 million kids each week.

Alliance to Feed the Future

Thanks to decades of investment and innovation, America’s food and agriculture producers feed the world with safe, nutritious, affordable food. It’s a system that we can take pride in, and it will become even more essential in the coming years as the world struggles to feed a growing global population. Unfortunately, there is insufficient focus in today’s public discussion regarding the benefits that our modern, efficient food system provides to consumers and society. This unbalanced public debate is negatively influencing public policy and consumers’ choices.

ASYMCA

The YMCA’s dedication to America’s armed forces began in 1861 when a handful of members voluntarily provided relief services to Civil War soldiers. Today, the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) enriches the quality of life for our service members at more than 150 program centers around the world by providing educational, recreational, social and religious support services to junior enlisted military personnel and their families.

BOKS

BOKS, an initiative of Reebok and the Reebok Foundation, is a before-school physical activity program aimed to get elementary school children moving in the morning and their brains ready for a day of learning. Dr. Ratey states in his book Spark that, “exercise is the single most powerful tool we have to optimize the function of our brains.” This was Kathleen Tullie’s inspiration to take physical activity for kids to the next level.

Exercise is Medicine

Exercise is Medicine is an initiative focused on encouraging primary care physicians and other health care providers to include exercise when designing treatment plans for patients. Exercise is Medicine is committed to the belief that exercise and physical activity are integral to the prevention and treatment of diseases and should be regularly assessed as part of all medical care.

Focused Fitness

Focused Fitness is an educator-founded organization with a passion for providing children and youth with the knowledge and skills to be fit, healthy and active for life. Focused Fitness delivers the tools, resources, technology and training that empower educators to integrate health and nutrition concepts into fun, movement-based activities. For over a decade, Focused Fitness has been a trusted source for standards-based PreK-12 Physical Education curriculum resources, software, as well as nutrition and activity programs.

Gen YOUth Foundation

Gen YOUth Foundation was established to create a movement that inspires youth to change their behavior. Over the past ten years, we have witnessed explosive growth in the number of children identified as overweight or obese. Gen YOUth Foundation works with leaders in health, business, government and communities nationwide to develop and support programs that create lasting change in the child health and wellness arena.

National Theatre for Children

The National Theatre for Children delivers award winning programming to millions of students, parents and communities across the country every year absolutely free. The live interactive programs cover a wide range of K-12 curricular subjects, from environmental issues and financial literacy to health, science and social responsibility. All sponsored by familiar and trusted companies so there is never a cost to schools.

National Wildlife Federation

The National Wildlife Federation is America's largest conservation organization. We work with more than 4 million members, partners and supporters in communities across the country to protect and restore wildlife habitat, confront global warming and connect with nature.

OASIS CATCH Healthy Habits

OASIS CATCH Healthy Habits is making a difference in the health and lives of thousands of children and adults 50-plus across the United States. This innovative evidence-based afterschool and summer camp program unites children in grades K to 5 with trained, caring adult volunteers, age 50-plus, to adopt lifelong healthy nutrition and physical activity habits to improve health and prevent obesity. Funded by WellPoint Foundation, OASIS CATCH Healthy Habits is based on the Coordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH), a nationally recognized evidence-based physical activity/nutrition curriculum.

PE4 Life

PE4life is a national non-profit organization dedicated to developing a country of active and healthy children and youth by increasing access to quality physical education. PE4life promotes making physical activity fun and interactive to engage all students. PE4life partners with community, business, and school leaders to facilitate systemic change in the perception and delivery of physical education with the desire to improve the health and wellness of children through quality physical education.

Peaceful Playgrounds

Peaceful Playgrounds is an evidence-based physical activity program that decreases playground injuries, decreases bullying, and increases children's physical activity levels. It won the 2010 Innovative product award and is rated Best in Class by Action for Healthy Kids.

Penn State Better Kid Care

Better Kid Care's  On Demand distance education program assists child care providers in obtaining research-based professional development and is accepted by most states for licensing or quality rating requirements.

SPARK

SPARK is a research-based, public health organization dedicated to creating, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote lifelong wellness. SPARK strives to improve the health of children and adolescents by disseminating evidence-based physical activity and nutrition programs that provide curriculum, staff development, follow-up support, and equipment to teachers of Pre-K through 12th grade students. SPARK is committed to providing outstanding customer satisfaction through timely delivery and exceptional service.

Take 10!

"TAKE 10!" combines short periods of age-appropriate physical activity with grade-specific learning objectives for kindergarten to fifth grade students. TAKE 10! is an evidence-based program designed by teachers for teachers in K-5 classrooms. It is a program of the non-profit International Life Sciences Institute Research Foundation (ILSI RF).

The Mend Foundation

The MEND Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire children, families and adults to lead and sustain fitter, healthier and happier lives - with a focus on changing the behaviors that cause overweight and obesity. Over 30,000 participants in 5 countries have already benefitted from attending a MEND Program, an evidence-based healthy lifestyle program for 7-13 year-olds and their families. MEND 7-13 is currently being run in diverse communities across the US, in partnership with YMCAs and other community-based organizations.

The OrganWise Guys Inc

The OrganWise Guys Inc. (OWG Inc) produces The OrganWise Guys Comprehensive School Program (OWG CSP), which is a multi-media, cross-curricular program that uses fun characters based on the organs of the body (i.e., Hardy Heart; Peri Stolic, the large intestine; Sir Rebrum, the brain, etc.), coupled with high energy activities, to teach children how to make positive health, nutrition, and physical activity choices.

The Women's Sports Foundation

The Women's Sports Foundation-the leading authority on the participation of women and girls in sports-advocates for equality, educates the public, conducts research and offers grants to promote sports and physical activity for girls and women.

Founded by Billie Jean King in 1974, the Women's Sports Foundation builds on her legacy as a champion athlete, advocate of social justice and agent of change. We strive for gender equity and fight discrimination in sports.

Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth

The Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth leads statewide efforts to reduce and prevent youth tobacco use and childhood obesity through prevention programs and award-winning campaigns.

Vitamin Bee

Vitamin Bee, LLC. is an organization that believes that nutrition education is just as important as learning your ABC’s and 123’s.  Our fun and informative character Vitamin Bee encourages kids, families, and schools to learn and work together in order to create a long-lasting healthy life-style.  By being a part of a families life, both at home and at school, we strive to help raise the nutritional standard by empowering children and families to make healthy choices for themselves, as well as influence others to build a more healthy society.

Walking Classroom

The Walking Classroom is a national award-winning education program that provides students with an innovative way to get exercise without sacrificing instructional time.  Students listen to kid-friendly educational podcasts, that align to educational standards for 4th and 5th graders, while walking as a group.   The program’s “Walk, Listen and Learn” methodology capitalizes on the favorable link between exercise and cognitive function, and kids and teachers love it!

Youth Movement

Youth Movement is an initiative that was developed by the Health & Wellness Committee of the 100 Black Men, in 2002. This comprehensive youth program promotes health, fitness and mentoring to children ages 4 to 18. We sponsor year-round track and field clinics, health screenings, nutrition education, character development and life skills workshops. The goal of Youth Movement is to improve the health and well being of marginalized children, and to help insure their success.

ZeroDivide

ZeroDivide believes we can only sustain social change and achieve equity by integrating the tools of technology into community transformation strategies.

Over the past 15 years, ZeroDivide has used a big picture view to include technology sector advances, changing market realities, social trends and public policy to build opportunities for social change in civic engagement, economic inclusion and health improvement outcomes of underserved and vulnerable communities.
