Fit is provided through the Florida Hospital for Children's Healthy 100 Kids, a comprehensive pediatric wellness initiative with the goal of giving kids the best chance of living to a healthy 100. It approaches each aspect of physical and mental wellbeing, not only for children and teens, but also for the family unit when household support is needed to affect change.

Body Works

BodyWorks is a program designed to help parents and caregivers of adolescents improve family eating and activity habits. Available in English and Spanish, the program focuses on parents as role models and provides them with hands-on tools to make small, specific behavior changes to prevent obesity and help maintain a healthy weight.

Healthy Zone School

The Cooper Institute® (CI) has developed the Healthy Zone School Recognition Program, which will use evidence-based knowledge and best practices to assist schools in creating a school environment that is optimal in promoting healthy behaviors. CI is delighted to partner with the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas (UWMD) and the Texas Education Agency (TEA) on this 2-tier program that will 1) honor schools for their healthy practices (Healthy Zone Schools) and 2) assist schools that wish to establish an environment that is optimal for healthy behaviors (Healthy Zone Schools - In Training).

National PTA

Paul Pierce's The Truth on Health

Boston Celtics captain and 2008 NBA Finals MVP Paul "The Truth" Pierce and his foundation, The Truth Fund, launched The Truth on Health Campaign to help empower and encourage young people to lead healthier lifestyles. The Truth on Health includes an awareness campaign and sustainable programming for young people to live healthy lifestyles - incorporating physical fitness and healthy eating, and encouraging a commitment/pledge of 60 minutes per day dedicated to physical activity.
