Meet Our 2012-2013 Winners

Central Intermediate School in Central, LA was thrilled to find out they won Grand Prize in the Healthy Playground Makeover Sweepstakes. Their school had been trying to raise money for a playground for five years!
Central Elementary School in Seagoville, TX won second place in the Find Your Balance Challenge for establishing a team of students, staff and community members who worked together to make their school a more energy-balanced place.
Central Elementary School built their first playground last fall. To encourage even more students to play outside, the school plans to use their award from the Find Your Balance Challenge to build a track around their school.
These members of the Challenge Team at Dearborn Elementary School in Northridge, CA submitted an Energy Balance action plan that won them third place in the Find Your Balance Challenge!
Seaford Manor School — a Grand Prize Winner of the Healthy Playground Makeover Sweepstakes from Seaford, NY — doesn’t currently have a playground for their first through fifth graders, and their students can’t wait to play on their new one soon!

St. Anthony School Catholic School in Madison, MS won second place in the Find Your Balance Challenge for beginning a “Healthy Competition” to encourage their school community to make healthier choices. They are going to put their award towards building a greenhouse so their school can have a garden.
Velasco Elementary School in Freeport, TX celebrated winning the Gold Award in the HealthierUS Schools Incentives Sweepstakes with a school assembly that included an Energy Balance 101 quiz game!
